Here’s the Thing…
Generation X. Do you remember the debate that led to our generational label? According to the experts, there was nothing we really cared about, nothing that defined us, no “greatest generation” for us. Hence, the “x.” The generic generation that doesn’t give a crap.
Hmmm. Experts, meet YLNI.
It’s a happenin’ organization of 20- and 30- somethings who do care. We care about our community, about our voice and about our impact. Yeah, we can throw a swinging party (and we do), but YLNI is more than a cocktail hour. It’s a movement to celebrate what our community is and to make it the place we want it to be. Intrigued? Browse around to find out more.

The Barr Street Market is Back for 2008!

Every Saturday 9 a.m.-1 p.m. July 12-September 27 Young Leaders of Northeast Indiana (YLNI) in partnership with the History Center is pleased to offer another summer of farmer's market products with extended dates and more choices! The market begins July 12 and runs every Saturday through September, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the corner of Wayne and Barr streets. Free parking is available in the History Center parking lot along Berry Street. Bicyclists are encouraged to park at a corral in the market. With the return of requested vendors, such as Country Garden and Farm, Bakers Acres, Hardy's Farm Market, Graber's, Maples Acres, Canal Junction Farmstead Cheese, Susan Lobert, Hilger's, and VanDolah, a variety of farm products will be available in addition to newcomers to the market. These farm vendors will offer a range of fresh produce, including fruits and vegetables, cheeses, baked goods, maple syrups, honey, apple and pear butters, spices/herbs and apple cider. Breads and baked goods will be offered by Celebrations, Espresso Gallery and the North Anthony Health Food Shoppe.
To complete the picture of a farmer's market, other non-food vendors will be represented at the market that will include products such as jewelry, soaps and lotions, sewn handbags and children's clothing and pottery. Accompanying each Saturday morning will be acoustic entertainment as well as a hands-on activity table for children each week, sponsored by the Allen County Public Library Children's Services and WMEE. The full schedule of children's activities and entertainment can be found at ylni.org.
The following sponsors that will make the 2008 YLNI Barr Street Market a reality are: Carson Boxberger, Swiss Re, Gouloff-Jordan Surveying and Design, Chase, Nipsco, The History Center, Midwest Pipe & Steel, DataPrint Initiatives, Allen County Public Library and WMEE.
